"Miles of Smiles with Each Turn"
Welcome to the “17-mile drive”, a driving tour around Monterey and Pebble Beach, south of San Francisco. It is a GPS enabled professionally-narrated driving tour!
The Lone Cypress stands dramatically at the edge of a cliff, shrouded in fog. Its roots are embedded in a rough outcropping on a granite hillside and it is framed by a backdrop of loud, crashing waves. The tree is over 250 years old. It’s weathered the deadliest of storms and been scarred by raging fires.
Pebble Beach often lends its name to this entire drive, is a paradise of pristine white sand and sensational coastal cliffs. It has world-famous golf links and world-class resorts dotting the landscape. For golf nerds, this is the ultimate stop. There are eight different courses here, of varying length and difficulty.
Pescadero Point is legendary with fans of the paranormal. Finding an open parking spot around this area isn’t the easiest task, so if you do find something, take advantage of it. Like the rest of 17 Mile Drive, this point is full of cypress trees. But these trees have been altered by extreme weather conditions.
